ABOUT THE 3 PICTURES BELOW:
It was wonderful to get back to Thailand with Jeanene. I still have some wonderful friends there from my days as a missionary. I only get to see them about every five years it seems, so the opportunities to be with them are pretty precious. I’ll attach a picture or two. Thailand is a beautiful country and the people are the kindest, most generous, and friendly in the world. I love them with all my heart. I’m glad my language ability has survived in some degree through the decades. I can tell you it was much harder to learn the Thai language than it has been to forget it!
We had a chance to spend some time working with the tsunami refugees. What amazingly resilient people. The devastation from the wave in the Khao Lak area of Phuket in southern Thailand is unimaginable. How so many people survived is a mystery to me. We saw a police boat, about 65’ long, that had been thrown inland about 2-1/2 kilometers. The estimate is that the wave was about 45’ high in that area.
The people in the refugee camps were so sweet and grateful for the little help that we were able to provide. I wish we could have stayed much, much longer. We heard some amazing stories of survival from these great people. The experience there has really helped me to be able to put my extremely blessed life in perspective. God has been so much better to me than I deserve. I hope that someway in my life I will be able to show an appropriate expression of gratitude. (excerpt from letter to Dave Collins)
Ray Brwon and Jeanene. THis picture was taken on "James
Bond Island" the movie:
"The Man With the Golden Gun" was filmed here.
The mushrooms grow very large here...see that one in the background??
Ray Brown, proudly showing something ( only God knows what)
he made on a work day in Thailand.
Actually, he's involved with Tsunami relief work here. My old buddy has put on a
few pounds ( like me)
but he looks exactly like he did in high school, doesn't he?

Really very pretty, isn't it?
